This Psalm is broken down into three parts. In the first part, David professes the depth and reality of our sin (vs. 1-4). In the second part, David shifts his focus to God and what he does for his people (vs. 5-9). In the final part, David cries out to God to continue in his faithfulness (vs. 10-12). Each part clearly articulates who we are as humans and what God has done for us through His Son. This Psalm, written hundreds of years before Christ, points us to our only hope, which is the Steadfast Love of God.
